Unfortunately I could not be at the game this evening. I am a student at Bristol University; this makes travelling to away days rather difficult. Indeed Google Maps depressingly indicated that Bristol to Southend would take me three hours and nine minutes. Needless to say, the train would have taken doubly long. As such, I was forced to watch our game this evening on the ’BBC live updates.’ This was far from ideal, as was the full time result.
Southend United 2-1 Oxford United. Perhaps I should stop being so optimistic about my local club…
